57th Annual Cat Show at the Overland Park Convention Center August 8-9, 2009
(Overland Park, KS – July 15, 2009) Featuring over 300 purebred cats and a special house-hold pet competition, the 57th Annual Mo-Kan Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA) Cat Club Show will take place at the Overland Park Convention Center August 8 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday, August 9 from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Household pets will be judged in eight separate rings with a chance for prizes in each ring. The highest scoring four pets will be ‘crowned’ by Fox 4 TV personality Joe Lauria on Sunday in a special 'coronation’ ceremony. The house-hold pet entry fee is $30 which covers both days of competition. Contestants must register online by August 4 at www.webfelines.com.
The public is encouraged to attend. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors 60 years and older, and $4 for children ages three to twelve. Children three and under are free. Tickets are available at the door. Parking is free.
In addition to the judging of cats, this two-day event will have vendors selling cat toys, teasers, cat trees, furniture, fine jewelry, clothing, and collectibles. Purebred cats and kittens will be available for sale, and Kansas City Siamese Rescue will have feline pet adoptions.
